• 1.What does PMKVY stand for?

• 3.What is the target for the scheme?

  The scheme aims to target and benefit 24 lakh youth.

• 4.The scheme is launched/ driven by whom?

  The scheme is launched by Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and driven by National Skill Development Corporation of India (NSDC).

• 5.What is the validity of the scheme?

  The scheme is to be implemented in phases over the next 5 years.

• 6.Who can be the beneficiaries of this scheme/ Eligibility criteria of candidates?

  1. Candidate needs to be a minimum of 18 years of age
  2. Candidate needs to have a AADHAR card
  3. Candidate needs to have an auto debit Bank of India account
  4. Candidate needs to be availing of this monetary award for the first and only time during the operation of this Scheme.
  5. Any other criteria as defined by the Sector Skill Councils for respective job roles

• 7.What is the minimum / maximum duration of training?

  This varies for each job role depending upon the QP-NOS requirement. You can check with your AISECT branch for the details.

• 10.What will the candidate receive on successful completion?

  On successful completion of the course and passing of examination, candidate will receive a certificate of completion and reward money as mandated under the scheme.

• 11.Will the certification be recognized or be of any help to gain assured placement?

  The certificate will be recognized and placement support will be provided to the candidate.

• 12.Does the trainee need to pay for the training?

  The trainee needs to pay only the assessment fees.

• 13.What are the infrastructure and faculty norms to be followed for each course?

  This varies for each job role depending upon the QP-NOS requirement. You can check with your AISECT branch for the details.

• 14.What happens to the trainee fee if candidate drops out of the programme?

  If the candidate drops out of the programme, the fee will NOT be reimbursed.

• 18.Will the candidate registration process be online or offline?

  The candidate registration process will be online.

• 19.What is the schedule of registration?

  As the scheme is being implemented in phases, the registration will happen at intervals. Please contact your nearest AISECT branch for further information on registration.

• 20.Is service tax applicable?

  Yes, service tax is applicable.

• 21.What will be the minimum batch size for any course?

  The minimum batch size for any course is 20.

• 22.Can a candidate register for more than1 job role?

  No, a candidate cannot register for more than 1 job role.

ASSESSMENT

• 23.Who will conduct the assessment?

  Assessments will be conducted by government approved third party agencies.

• 24.What will be the mode/ pattern of assessment?

  The mode/pattern of assessment will differ for each job role. The trainee will be informed about this by his/her respective AISECT centre.

• 25.What will be the difficulty level of the exam?

  The difficulty level of the exam will differ for each job role. The trainee will be informed about this by his/her respective AISECT centre.

• 26.Where will be the test centres for assessment?

  The candidate’s enrollment/training centre will be the test centre for assessment.

• 27.What happens if the candidate fails to pass the assessment?

  If the candidate fails to pass the assessment, he/she shall NOT receive any certificate or reimbursement.

• 28.What certification will be provided to the scheme?

  Government recognized sector skill council certification will be provided under the scheme.

• 29.In how many days after the assessment, will the certificates be obtained?

  The certificates will be obtained after one month of declaration of results.

• 30.Will course material be provided by AISECT for this scheme?

MANDATORIES

• 31.Is AADHAR card mandatory for the beneficiaries of the scheme?

  Yes, AADHAR card is mandatory for the beneficiaries of the scheme.

• 32.What if AADHAR card is not available with the candidate?

  AISECT will help the candidate obtain AADHAR card.

• 33.What is the importance of Aadhar Card for this scheme?

  AADHAR card will be used for enrollment of the candidate and for disbursal of monetary reward under the scheme.

• 34.What bank account should the candidate have?

  Candidate should have an auto debit Bank of India account.

• 35.Is the student required to sign any document?

  Yes, the student needs to sign an undertaking provided at the AISECT centre.

• 36.Can a batch of 20 sit for different job roles?

  No, a batch of 20 cannot sit for different job roles.
